Israel poised to intercept another Gaza aid ship
Another supply ship carrying humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza is feared to be intercepted by Israel.
A civic group says its aid ship, the 1200-ton Rachel Corrie, left Ireland in mid-May and is scheduled to reach waters near the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning.
The group says 15 passengers are on board the Rachel Corrie, including Irish Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mairead Maguire and a Malaysian parliamentarian.
A flotilla of 6 ships was earlier sent by the same civic aid group to Gaza. Israeli commandos stormed the lead ship, killing 9 people, most of them Turkish, on Monday.
The group is determined to send aid ships until Israel lifts the economic blockade of Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to stop any attempt to defy the blockade.
The relationship between Turkey and Israel has become tense and international pressure is mounting on Israel to ease the economic blockade.
