SALAH SATU PUNCA MINYAK DUNIA NAIK BALIK

British embassy in Tehran stormed

Young Iranians stormed the British embassy in Tehran to protest Britain's new economic sanctions over Iran's nuclear program.

About 1,000 people gathered outside the embassy on Tuesday. Around 50 of them entered the compound, chanting, "Death to Britain". They smashed windows, threw documents outside and burned the British flag.

Riot police removed the protesters from the embassy about 4 hours after the intrusion.

Iran's state-run media reported that protesters burst into another British embassy compound in northern Tehran. Six embassy officials were temporarily detained.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said the country is committed to international law. They added that the storming of the British compounds was regrettable.

The sanctions imposed on November 21st ban British financial institutions from making transactions with all Iranian counterparts. This includes the central bank.

In return, the Iranian parliament approved a bill calling on the government to expel the British ambassador.

Tuesday's violent protests are expected to make bilateral relations even worse.

Toyota unveils plug-in hybrid model

Ini kereta dalam taman bukan untuk jalan jauh KECUALI ada orang bleh bagi plug in letrik. Jauh lagi baru bleh guna sepenuhnya. 26 km? macam ada yang tak kena aje....

Toyota Motor plans to become the first Japanese automaker to market a rechargeable plug-in hybrid car that runs longer than present models.

Toyota on Tuesday unveiled the car, which is based on the company's gasoline-electric Prius hybrid but runs on a new type of large-capacity battery that can be recharged in a household power outlet.

The car can travel about 26 kilometers on a full charge using only its electric motor. Toyota says the feature sets this vehicle apart from standard hybrids.

The car is to be priced at around 41,000 dollars and go on sale this January.

Other automakers including Honda and Mitsubishi plan to begin selling similar plug-in hybrids next year or later.
