A leading Japanese electronics maker, Panasonic, has been found to have hidden millions of dollars in revenue.
Sources say Panasonic sold its products to a subsidiary in China at prices lower than usual.
The Osaka Regional Taxation Bureau says this was an intentional transfer of income to make it look like the parent company had smaller sales.
The bureau says this ploy allowed Panasonic to conceal 8 million dollars in income for 5 years through March 2009.
Panasonic says it addressed the issue as required after the tax bureau pointed out the unreported revenue.
