SOURCE Israel seizes another aid ship
The Israeli military has seized another aid ship heading for Gaza.
The 1,200-ton cargo ship was carrying humanitarian aid, including medical supplies. The vessel belongs to the same aid group whose 6 ships were seized on Monday. 9 people on board were killed in skirmishes with Israeli troops. Israel has since come under harsh criticism.
The ship left Ireland last month. It was captured off Gaza on Saturday.
Fifteen people, including Irish Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mairead Maguire and Malaysian parliamentarians, were on board. No one was injured.
The ship is being towed to a southern Israeli port.
The civil aid group says it does not intend to give up trying to send aid ships to Gaza where it says people are suffering tremendous hardships as a result of the blockade.
But Israel says it will not lift the blockade which it says is necessary to stop arms smuggling into Gaza.
