Ichiro leads All-Star fan vote
In Major League Baseball, Ichiro Suzuki of the Seattle Mariners leads early voting of the American League for the 81st All-Star Game.
On Monday Major League Baseball announced the results for the game between the American and National leagues. The game is scheduled for July 13th at the Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.
Ichiro is leading the outfielders of the league, winning about 366,000 votes. If selected, it will be his 10th straight All-Star Game appearance.
Fellow Japanese batter Hideki Matsui of the Los Angeles Angels is in second place among the designated hitters in the American League, garnering, 298,000 votes.
Catcher Joe Mauer of the Minnesota Twins, with 640,000 votes, leads the players. Mauer is now the leading batter of the American League.
The final members of both leagues will be announced on July 4th.
