Austria freezes 1.2 billion euro Qadhafi assets
Austria has decided to freeze the financial assets of Libyan leader Muammar al-Qadhafi and those of his family members deposited in the country.
Austria's central bank announced on Tuesday that about 1.2 billion euros, or 1.7 billion dollars, worth of individual assets of Qadhafi and his family members are deposited in financial institutions in the country.
Austria is the 3rd European country after Switzerland and Britain to freeze the Libyan leader's assets following the European Union's decision on Monday to take such measures.
