Ichiro gets lifetime 3500 hits
In Major League Baseball, Ichiro Suzuki of the Seattle Mariners has connected for the 3,500th hit of his career, playing in Japan and the United States.
Ichiro on Saturday started as a right fielder in the game against the Texas Rangers.
In the first inning, he batted an infield hit to second base. That was the 3,500th hit of his career on both sides of the Pacific.
In MLB history, only 5 players have 3,500 career hits.
Ichiro had another hit in the 8th inning on Saturday and now needs 7 more hits to achieve his 10th straight 200-hit season.
