Magnitude 6.1 quake occurs in Uzbekistan
A powerful earthquake occurred in Central Asia's Uzbekistan on Wednesday, killing at least 13 people.
The US Geological Survey says the quake's magnitude was 6.1 and the epicenter was near Uzbekistan's border with Kyrgyzstan.
The Uzbekistan government says 86 people were injured.
A number of residential buildings have been reportedly damaged in the eastern Uzbek province of Fergana, about 40 kilometers east of the epicenter.
